Zézinho Bid Rejected + Video – Rees Nets For England

Arsenal have had a £1.5 million bid turned down for Juventude midfielder José Luis dos Santos Pinto, who is known simply as ‘Zézinho’.

The left footed starlet has made four appearances for Juventude’s first-team this campaign in the Brazilian Serie ‘B’. His performances saw him called up to the Brazil Under 17 national team for the South American tournament. Liverpool were then said to have wrapped up a deal to sign Zézinho but this was quickly dismissed.

A bid of £1.5 million has been made, but it was quickly rebuffed. Whether Arsenal return with another offer remains to be seen but with the deadline looming for the Gunners to send a player on loan to Salamanca, it’s likely this could be pushed through. However, Zézinho’s buyout clause is set at £35 million pounds.

You can view a video of the Brazilian scoring the second for his country against Paraguay below.

Watch Zezinho’s Goal For Brazil

In other news, England’s Under 17’s began the Nordic Tournament with a solid draw against Denmark after coming from behind to steal a point thanks to Arsenal’s Josh Rees.

An inexperienced England side travelled to Norway, but it did include two members of Steve Gatting’s Under 16’s in the form of Josh Rees and Nico Yennaris. There was little in the game during the early stages, but on 36 minutes Denmark went ahead following some poor defensive work. Niels Bisp Rasmussen found himself in space inside the area and headed home past Newcastle United ‘keeper Jak Alnwick

However England soon drew level, with Gunners’ schoolboy Rees getting the goal on the stroke of half time. Into the second half, the Three Lions looked most likely to score again, but couldn’t find the goal that would have given them an opening win.

They play again on Monday, against the Faroe Islands.

Yepp, I’m not sure if it’s a rule that they must have buyout clauses. I know there is something like that in Spain.

What about wellington J, does this mean that is looking like a no go for him to join us?

I read elsewhere that the buyout is 3.5m, which seems more realistic !

Arse&Nose – Nope. You would have read that they apparently want £3.5 million, but his buyout clause is €40 million euros, which is around £35 million pounds.

It used to be reported that in Spain the ‘law’ was that you could buy out the remainder of a player’s contract (ie. salary for remaining years …as the maximum value of the transfer fee). I don’t know how often that happened, nor whether what seemed like astronomic buyout clauses (at the time) had any legal binding. (I’ve no idea about Brazil!)

“All but dead” means about as close to dead as is possible without actually being final

Since you seem to have at least one mole within the Arsenal, would you be kind enough to forward why you think the Wellington deal fell through. I remember him being over here with his family as also reported on your website. Many thanks.

wellington in my opinion much better than zezinho. he’s a classy playmaker, similar with arshavin. anyway, maybe wenger should sign both of them.

Why are so few Young Guns in the Austria-Squad this year?
No Barazite,no Simpson,no Ayling and no Coquelin for example.

He didn’t. It’s only the Nordic Cup thing anyway. The “stars” don’t go in that one. There’s a big friendly one at the end of August but SKY don’t seem to do it anymore the tossers.

you believe it so much I’m starting to believe you! I thought he was good at the euro 17 but since then I found him dispointing, even if it’s true that he was mostly played on the wings. I’ll have another look tomorrow

Eng u19’s are on Eurosport tomorrow at 2.30pm. Doesn’t anyone else find it hard to believe that against Slovenia they scored SEVEN goals and Rhys Murphy didn’t get on the scoresheet despite playing the whole 90? It aint a dig at Rhys. I think he can be a great striker one day but he’s such a good goal-getter yet didn’t score one of the seven goals.

I rate Rhys Murphy ahead of Welbeck. Hes just had so many injuries.

Lansbury has had a massive set back with illness. After the under 17s i thoguth lanbsuyr was going to kick on and move into the first team. Hes coming back to full fitness now it takes a long time to recover from gladular fever

Liam Brady and Arsene want to sign both Wellington and Zezinho. This is the last season to sign u18’s players from other countries due to one of Platini’s new laws.
This is why we seem to be stock piling new young players such as the 3 Swiss boys and the serious chasing of Luc Castaignos.
Wellington’s parents have offered to move the family to get the deal done as soon as possible but it seems that Fluminense are prepared to take it court to get the fee that they believe they deserve.

Hi, I’m a brazilian Juventude fan, and i’ve heard about your blog. About Zezinho’s buyout clause, it’s about 40 million Reais, or 20 million american dollars… The kid is great and I can surely say that £8 million is cheap for him….

Regards… (sry for my bad english)

Hi, I´m brazilian and a Juventude supporter. Zezinho clause was 40million reals (our national currency). But it was further increased, but the new amount was not revealed. Anyway, the price is negotiable, and I´m pretty sure that the club will accept an offer of 5 million euros.
