No Deal On The Cards For Arsenal Trialist Praet

Belgian starlet Dennis Praet is not on the verge of being signed by Arsenal, contrary to claims in the English media. The Racing Genk midfielder has now returned to his home land following a short trial where he featured in a behind closed door training match.

Praet is a highly rated right footed attacking play-maker. A diminutive size coupled with his long hair has led to physical comparisons with Tomáš Rosický, but as he develops, many have noted his playing style is similar to Arsenal’s Czech maestro. He is a current Under 16 international and has claimed six ‘Player of the Tournament’ awards in recent months.

Liverpool and Barcelona have been linked with Dennis but neither have stepped up their initial scouting interest. Liam Brady is already making plans for next season’s squads with a selection of prospects from all over the world expected to come for run outs before the season comes to a close.

Arsène Wenger did not get chance to make a personal check on Praet during his time in London so a second look seems certain before both sides try and thrash out a deal. Genk are expected to demand a large amount of compensation for the 15-year-old who looks certain to move on during the summer.

Of course we need wingers. Look at yesterday we were poor in the wide areas. We cant cross the ball and we dont have players who can go past players in wide positions apart from eboue we have no one else. We miss alexander hleb badly

Arsenal are being bullied by the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid I feel( As they approach our players all the time). The only way for Arsenal to keep their top players is by signing 3 quality players who will give us the boost to take on Man U and Chelsea, otherwise bye bye Cesc and Robin, it may even be too late as Cesc may want to join Barca this Summer, who knows.

Haha Jimmy I know where you might be coming from but maybe think of it this way. He is only 15 or 16, and if say Wilshere or Merida do not make it (this is an example!!!!!) Then we have someone who can take their place. We also have larger playmakers like Aneke, JET and even Ozyakup. he’s not 6 ft. but 5’10 or 11 is close enough. You can take care of yourself at that height. And Arshavin who is truly diminutive might move on eventually as well. Same for Rosicky. So we will lose some smaller players over a longer period of time. If Barca is after Praet then he must be worth having another look at at least, don’t you think??

I don’t have anything against us trying to sign him. I don’t care about his size because we will have plenty of muscle in the 1st team by the time he breaks through into the 1st squad. You need some small players to cause the defense some problems with pace and the lower centre of gravity. I just hope that we aren’t missing out on any British talent worrying about stocking up on European talent to prepare for UEFA’s new rules. I’m Canadian so I don’t really care who comes from where, but in the end I think logic and history would suggest that it is crucial to have home-based players in any great team. Milan, Barca, Madrid, Juve, Bayern, Ajax etc. have all proven this.

JS whats ur opinion on Moussa dembele?

This may sound silly but i think wenger will sign a winger next transfer window i think eboue will leave on a free with senderos, campbell, gallas, silvestre.

We need a right winger to help walcott and a right back to provide cover for sagna

Moussa Dembele is very similar to a certain Thierry Henry. He has that silky smooth style about him. Any of these players join next year I will be extremely happy. Eden Hazard, Diego Alves, Jerome Boeteng, Mouusa Dembele or Bryan Ruiz.

For Christ sake stop this signing of wc kids. We have had enough of this. When these kids are signed, they are loaned or farmed for two to three years. When they come back they are presumed or able to be of first team material.
Frankly it has not worked.A lot of time has been wasted. I wonder what has happened to the Carling team of autumn.By now they shd be in the senior team or squad.Silence means failure.

Arsenals link with Beveren is over as far as I know. Roberto Martinez has not put rumours to bed that Arsenal are linked with a double swoop for Nzogbia and Rodallega. I have a strong feeling Vela is on his way out of Arsenal as he wants first team football, so maybe Wenger is looking for two forwards and one who can play on the wing. Also Dembele has said he is leaving during the Summer and Wenger will add some defensive players, but it all depends on injuries and contracts(Gallas, Silvestre, Campbell, Senderos).

I think the 4-3-3 formation is the problem.

We need 2 proper wingers alongside bendtner not nasri and rosicky who always come inside.

We need 2 play 2 up front 2 wingers and play 2 box to box midfielders. I dont get care if we gt exposed we need to score goals goals goals

Wow and even more stupid comments…..Why would we want Eden Hazard? Because he is the next attacking winger phenomenon in line…..We can get him, he has already said he either wants to join us or Madrid. Who doesnt “need” David Vila? We should just go pick up Messi, Iniesta, C.Ronaldo and Maicon why we are at it. GO SUPPORT MAN CITY IF THAT IS HOW YOU THINK THINGS SHOULD BE RAN!!!!!!

If we get Hazard then it will be too good. I’m also sure we’ll get Chamack. We really need a WC goalkeeper and 2 wingers. Either Gallas or Campbell will stay. Senderos will surely move on. Djourou will have a season to prove i guess and Wilshere too. Maybe JET and merida alongside Ramsey will get some playing time too. and Vela i don’t know whats happening with him. And even though i don’t want, i think Eduardo will have to move.

Im hoping we will buy in the summer Diego Alves (top draw goalie an shouldnt be to expensive) or another goalie anyones better than Almunia!, Gregory Van Der Wiel (as backup to Sagna an getting rid of Eboue), Neven Subotic (or another decent CB) and Chamakh. If we got these players i think we could do brilliantly next season. Id be in dream land though if we got Eden Hazard aswell though :)
