Arsene Wenger will be at Boreham Wood this evening to watch Wellington Silva officially make his Arsenal debut, alongside Japanese Under 17 trialist Ryo Miyaichi.
FC Köln youngster Miyaichi has joined the Gunners on trial having had a spell training with Ajax earlier in the summer. However, the notable news is that Wellington Silva will feature, after being given special dispensation by the Home Office to play. The full squad can be found on Boreham Wood’s website.

The competition may not be strongest but the Japanese kid looks to have everything: right-footed but also very good with his left, good dribbling skills, good pace, ability to go past players, nice shot on goal, etc.

Wellington Silva can’t play for us in the league until he turns 18 in January, and that is provisional on him getting a work permit. Right now he is still a player for Fluminense who gave him a month to train with us and get acclimated in London as per the deal that is bringing him to Arsenal in January 2011.
