Loanees – Botelho Assists As Barazite Debuts

Welcome to this weekends Loanees Watch – Young Guns’ analysis, reports and updates on the progress of the young starlets currently plying their trade away from the Emirates Stadium. You can read all the latest reports below.

Sanchez Watt played 57 minutes on the wing for Leeds United as they came from behind to beat Swansea City. Watt was involved in several chances in the first half, notably setting up Bradley Johnson who hit the bar. He was replaced by Lloyd Sam just after the equaliser.

Kyle Bartley completed the 90 minutes at centre half for Sheffield United as they beat Derby County 1-0.

Luke Freeman came off the bench to play the final six minutes of Yeovil’s 3-1 win against Tranmere Rovers. Freeman had little impact as a sub, but did collect a late yellow card for delaying the play.

Francis Coquelin was an unused substitute for Lorient as they drew 0-0 with Brest.

Pedro Botelho played the full 90 minutes at left back for FC Cartagena as they thrashed Barcelona B 5-1. Botelho also added to his superb start to the season with two assists, both from left wing crosses. You can view video highlights of the assists by clicking here. Pedro’s involvement was in the second and fifth goals.

Samuel Galindo did not feature in UD Salamanca’s 1-0 win over Gimnastic as he continues to build up his fitness after the summer break. He did however play in a midweek friendly, scoring against Santa Marta.

Nacer Barazite started and played 65 minutes on his Vitesse Arnhem debut against Heerenveen. The Dutchman played wide on the left and had two notable chances to score, both assisted by fellow loanee Ismail Aissati.

Armand Traore was not included in the Juventus team which drew 3-3 with Sampdoria.

Kyle Bartley will hopefully get better and better on loan at Sheffield Utd and come back next season to push for a 1st team place next season. Got real high hopes for him.

I really do wonder how many games Traore is going to play.

he’s out with an injury for 4 weeks. Juventus tried to sell Grosso to make room for him but he wanted to stay, for some reason (this is one of the transfers that would have been affected by that controversial rule that’s causing the players to strike). so I think he will get his fair share of games…

What’s going on with Coquelin!? Lorient have to play him, as that is why he is on loan!

I’m happy to see Bartley getting 90 minutes regularly and Sanchez watt playing.

I don’t think they have to play him, because this loan was part of the Koscielny deal. anyway, I think any first team action he gets is a bonus because he would probably have stayed with the reserves and played only in the Carling Cup anyway. he’s learning a lot from Christian Gourcuff, one of the best managers when it comes to nurturing young talent…

It’s Botelho’s third season in Spain. That means he can get now an EU passport, right?
It would be great to have him here next season.

Hope that Wellington Silva’s and Galindo’s journey to the Emirates will be a shorter one…

Looks like Sanchez Watt, Kyle Bartley and Pedro Botelho are the winners out of the loanees. Coquelin doesn’t seem to be getting much game time and I doubt Traore and Barazite will either. but the aforementioned three look to be playing key roles in their respective teams.

Its a pity Coquelin isnt playing more, but the seasons only just started and things, hopefully will change.

Barazite will get playing time. Vitesse have 3 real quality players – him, Aissati from Ajax, and Matic from Chelsea. they would be crazy to not play those guys regularly. I doubt you would recognize any of the other names in their squad… maybe Piet Velthuizen, who was Holland’s 3rd choice keeper in a couple of games.

Botelho looks quality wonder whether we’ll keep him at left back or on the wings might depend where Wenger sees Gibbs as he’s talked up Gibbs chances of playing in other positions hmm God bless.

Also what about Nick powell are arsenal really intrested in him?

Pedro botelho can he adapt to the premiership thats the thing there is no time and space.

Its so hard for wingers these days to play in the premiership on the same side as the foot.

The last winger i remeber who was effective without cutting in like messi, adam johnson from the right was arjen robben. I havent seen anyone has tricky, elusive as robben before he gave arsenal alot of problems. I see botelho similar to him

if arsene didnt think he was good he wouldnt try to get him a work permit. hopefully he will win his spanish citizenship by the end of this season. secundo division seems below his level now lets just hope we dont lose him to a spanish team. i trust wenger’s gonna extend his contract.

Let’s get realistic here people, Sanchez Watt and Nacer Barazite are NOT good enough to break into our first team so the only interest there is that they do well for their loan clubs so we can get the best money for them when we flog them on in January or next summer. I’m not convinced that Juventus is the best loan move for Armand Traore as I can’t see him being a fixture in their team at any time soon. He’s a good player but again not good enough for us. I’d rather he’s gone on loan to another club where he’d get 30+ games so he’d be properly in the shop window come transfer window time. And Francis Coquelin, if he’s good enough he’ll play.
