Mannone Joins Hull City On Loan

Vito Mannone has joined Championship outfit Hull City on loan until January the 3rd 2011. The Italian stopper is expected to go straight into the squad to face Sheffield United tomorrow.

Mannone will be allowed to complete the season with Hull if both Arsenal and The Tigers are happy with the agreement. The Italian Under 21 international joins City just over a week after publicly telling Arsene Wenger of his desire to seek regular first-team football.

Vito will wear the number 29 shirt at the KC Stadium. You can read a full report on Young Guns tomorrow should he make his debut against Sheffield United.

and this is good for szczesny and mannone
Szczesny will hopefully get more cup games and this loan will help mannone forget about the dreadful mistake he made for italy
I dont see Mannone becoming our no.1 but I do Szczesny becoming our no.1 and hopefully this will mean he signs a new contract

good to see that the spam filter is working (NOT!).

    anyways, here’s what i wrote:
how is this good for chesney? won’t this mean that he only gets to play 1-2 games this season in the carling cup instead of playing full time with some championship team for a few months?

this will mean Szczesny will play cup game (7-8 minimum) and reserves games around 10-15 games which is very good for the boy
And then he might even get bench action for the league games and who knows one of our goalkeeper gets red carded comes in wins us the games and just doesn’t leave for the next 2 decades (just a thought)

Szczesny has already said many times that he needs REGULAR playing time and that he has no interest in reserve matches. He probably knows that he’d likely get a callup to the full national team if he were playing regularly, since virtually all of Poland’s players are benchwarming or simply mediocre. So giving the loan spell to Mannone may not be the best idea if Arsenal want to keep Szczesny happy.

Wasn’t the deadline for loan moves supposed to end 2 weeks after the transfer deadline? Is this a case of Hull in a gk crisis and so have been permitted to draft someone in or is the loan deadline non-existant?

Wengers already said Chesney will be no.1 in the future and has alot of faith in Fabianski so doesn’t look like Mannone has a long term future with us. Probably leave permanently back to Italy at the end of the season.

Mannone has no future at arsenal.
I am scared ches wont sign a new contract
if fabianski turns out to be good i have no problem with him being our 1st choice keeper but ches looks like an awesome prospect

I’ve never heard so much rubbish.

Mannone signed a new contract in January to keep him with us until 2014. Does that sound like a player with no future at the club?

Last season Szczesny went on loan and Mannone was Arsenal’s no.3. This season Mannone has gone on loan and Szczesny seems to be the no.3. Neither player is being given preference over the other, both will have opportunities to prove themselves, and this competition between the two young ‘keepers can only be a good thing.

Kara signed a four-year contract when he came to Tromso from Diambars Academy earlier this year. He thus has three years left of his contract with Tromsø and can not really enter into talks with other clubs without permission.

it seems Mannone has been the most solid when playing for us out of he, Almunia, and Fabianski.
