Extensions Plus Injuries

Arsenal’s ever growing list of loanees had a quiet weekend due to the adverse weather conditions, but for a selection of them, they had changes off the pitch to deal with.

Thomas Cruise and Benik Afobe have both had their loan deals extended into the New Year. Cruise will now stay with Carlisle United until the 8th of January. The left back has been largely successful with United and will look to earn a further extension until the end of the season.

Afobe will also be on loan until at least the 8th of January. Arsenal confirmed our story from a week ago about Huddersfield Town agreeing to keep the young striker; although Benik will return for FA Youth Cup games. The 17-year-old has earned mass praise in Yorkshire, bagging three goals and three assists in just seven matches.

Elsewhere, Aaron Ramsey is progressing with Nottingham Forest. The Welshman is close to full fitness and is just waiting on game time to regain his top form.

Further a field, Samuel Galindo is waiting on a decision tomorrow morning on whether he will need surgery on a broken ankle. Galindo suffered the fracture in training and Head Doctor José Ignacio Garrido will now consult with Salamanca’s medical team to decide on surgery.

Thats a shame for Galindo. Where do you the likes of JET will end up in January? Who else do you expect to go out on loan?

Wow. That’s disappointing about Galindo. Sorry to hear that one. Hoep he makes a full and quick recovery.

Wow, bad news Re: Galindo. He’s a young lad so hopefully he can recover quickly.

Some information and news on Emmanuel-Thomas to follow tomorrow, Hatchet.

I think Afobe has a little way to go before he’s first team ready. League One to title fighting in the Premier League is a big step, but he’s developing very well.

I think Nordtveit would really benefit from a short ‘Wilshere-type’ loan to a Premier League side, if one was willing to take him.

What a shame about Galindo, let’s hope it’s not too serious a break.

We cannot send Nordtveit on loan as both Vermaelen and Koscielny are out to January. He’s an OK back up to them as CB.

With koscileny out and vermaelen any chance we could recall bartley?

Kyle bartley for me would slot in nicely.

I dont want alex song playing centre half even if he can do a job there. He would still try to score goals.

Shame koscielny is injured hes better centre half than squillaci and i personally think we are going to miss him big time against Man Utd movement, pace,

Sucks for Galindo. Hes supposed to be one for the future. I know it is sometimes hard to be a fan of the youth policy but it is really going to pay off when guys like Ramsey, Wilshere, Frimpong, Lansbury, Bartley, Coquelin, Afobe, Aneke etc… are dominating the EPL. Just my opinion.
